Who should attend?

Level 1 – Introduction to Beer and Beer Service, is an essential course for anyone who needs to suggest and serve beer appropriately in a restaurant, hotel or bar.

This course is also suitable for consumers who want to know more about beer in general and how to enjoy their beer in a way that is appropriate to their chosen style.

What does it offer?

You’ll learn how beer is made, what the ingredients are and how they affect the taste. You will taste different styles of beer and also learn to recognise some of the most common faults.

The storage and serving of beer will be examined in detail, in particular how to maintain and comply with the health and safety aspect of serving and the hygienic maintenance of beer-dispensing equipment.

The cantons with which we currently have an agreement are:

  • Geneva – it is possible to apply for a “grant or loan” from the Canton
  • Jura
  • Neuchâtel
  • Valais – ritzy continuing education

For managers and employees of a restaurant, bar, hotel or nightclub (subject to the L-GAV / CCNT) in a Canton that does not offer a subsidy for continuing education, we offer a 10% discount on the price of the course at our main premises and also in the Canton of Ticino.
